  1. Decathlon. Made with child labor. Yay! Seriously man I’ve quit watching other YouTubers sponsoring this shit. Please for the love of human rights, stop

  2. I have both. They are not the same. It’s close and functional, sure. But the GW is higher quality down, rip stop proprietary shell, better zipper, lighter weight.

  3. Can’t believe how expensive MH is now. Back in ’07 when I still worked at an outfitter, MH was the middle of the road semi-affordable choice.

  4. Not the same fabric ✅
    Not the same down ✅
    Money from referal link ✅
    Credible and reliable source ❌

  5. Mt hardware jacket I bought just like the one your wearing and the pits were soooooooooooooo tight it gave me a slight rash. So I purchased an Arcteryx Cerium lol and I’ve had it 6 years and it’s still like new and I’m in AK WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Patagonia… spend high end money on their jackets would wear them for 3 or 4 years and sell em for 50.00 less than what I paid, talk about getting my money’s worth!

Speaking of Pat I have a down jacket from 2013 that’s still feels like new even has pit zips and last Jan in AK it was 22 below here in the Matsu valley thing was worth 300 no if and’s or buts! I’ll get ANOTHER 11 years out of it fO shO.

Speaking of Pat again I’ve brought back base layers after years of wearing and just wanted them patched or fixed THEY GAVE ME A FULL REFUND LOL. So we all have had are own experiences with these types of thangs haven’t we?!

  6. If I’m in the woods where most people aren’t gonna see me why would I wear a jacket or coat?
    After all, why not?
Why shouldn’t I wear a thick medieval cloak?

  7. Once you been in the mountains, in freezing wind, snow, hail, dangerous conditions then you really start to apreciate quality gear. Both are ok for daily use on shopping sprees or dog walks, but one will fall down very quick when the weather becomes serious….

  8. And when one of my clients boot sole descintagrates on day 2 of a trek in Greenland that she paid 8000$ for. I’m not a fan of Decathlon. Affordable yes, unfortunatly cheap. Not a one time thing…

  9. Decathlon gear is great for what it is – budget gear with at least some name. Similar to Naturehike. Still, specialized equipment from big brands is just so much better. Like TNF Inferno sleeping bag and Thermarest X-Therm that let me sleep warm directly in the snow in below -20C temperatures for being 2 kg.

Yes, they are also $1,000 bought on sale. And still, this isn’t lying, this is the cost of stretching that extra mile. You will have the same while building your PC, customizing your car, etc.

  10. It’s true to a point but I realized that some jackets have more of a ratio of down versus feather 🪶 and sometimes the seems are better done. Most people just have a jacket for home to car or for fashion. When it comes to being out in a major snow storm get a real good jacket from Eddie Bauer or something similar. 😊

  11. Decathlon had some tents set up in a car park near their store in Gateshead (UK). They were all full of water because the flysheets didn’t go down to the ground and they didn’t have waterproof doors. In the UK it is often windy and wet at the same time, flysheets need to protect the whole of the inner tent. A porch/vestibule is essential to dump wet gear into so that it doesn’t need to be taken into inner tents.

  12. Fill power and actual fill mass aren’t the same. Fill power refers to the size of the down fluffs. The higher, the bigger and the more insulative for the weight. That doesn’t mean they’re putting in enough.

  13. I bought my no name for $17. Compared to Columbia, Patagonia, and numerous others, the baffles are fuller and jacket warmer.

  14. Apparently you think we’re stupid too if you think you’re gonna convince us the only difference between those jackets is a logo.

  15. Cmon man. I agree many name brands are overpriced but there is a difference in quality and stitching and face fabrics etc. They are not the SAME. They are similar but with some very important quality differences.

  16. They don’t think we’re stupid, they KNOW we’re stupid. Think about how dumb the average person is. Now realize that half of everyone is even dumber than that. And that’s exactly why you’re shilling out for mediocre products with significantly lower build quality that will fall apart after any real use

  17. I don’t know what decathlons are like in north American, but here in the UK decathlon sells a lot of crap for a lot of money…

  18. Clearly not the same material, i will tell you now, with jackets you are paying for more durable material for sure.

  19. A big difference might lie in the animal treatment for the down jacket. Animals are plucked alive multiple times 🙁
